Ceres Symposium
I’m excited to announce I’ll be part of a celebration of Ceres in June: the Ceres Symposium hosted by Andrea Michelle Haeckel. I will present my talk The Mysteries of Ceres on Saturday 14 June 2025 along with additional presentations by Jason Holley and Julija Simas. The next day on Sunday 15 June there will be more Ceres presentations by Faye Blake, Christina Rodenbeck, and Sol Jonassen.
Ceres tends to be undervalued by astrologers, including recently by transit as she has been relationally embedded within the potent Pisces grouping we have all experienced with Saturn, the North Node of the Moon, Venus retrograde and Mercury retrograde all together in Pisces. The Ceres Symposium will explore many sides of the profound astrological meaning found in Ceres – you can read more about the event here and register here.
I’ve long worked with Ceres in my astrological practice, but my relationship with her deepened last year due to spending considerable time at the site of her Mysteries in Elefsina aka Eleusis in Greece. My presentation The Mysteries of Ceres will draw on this awareness, as well as explore the meaning you can find within the 23 year planetary period of Ceres which leads to a natal Ceres return at ages 23, 46, and 69.
The Mysteries of Ceres: Ceres is the “dwarf planet” queen of the asteroid belt whose astrological meaning resonates with the mythology of her namesake Demeter. In Greek myth Demeter brought both the gift of grain and the mysteries to humanity, nurturing both our material and spiritual capacities and relationships. We will explore the astrological meaning of Ceres and how her significations in natal charts connect with the mythology and mysteries of Demeter. We will also examine her 23 year cycle and how during our solar return years of 23, 46, and 69 she returns to the same phasal relationship with the Sun and close to the same degree that she has in our natal chart.
