Zodiacal Releasing Course

Zodiacal Releasing Course

I’m excited to announce I will be teaching a five week course on Zodiacal Releasing for Kepler College in the new year! The course begins on 10 February 2024 and there is currently an early registration discount that ends on 27 January 2024.

Zodiacal Releasing is a Hellenistic astrology timelord technique that reveals the timing and multi-layered nature of pivotal events and peak experiences in ways that are unlike any other astrological timing method.

Preserved in the writing of 2nd century astrologer Vettius Valens, methods for working with Zodiacal Releasing have been recovered over the past thirty years as part of the Hellenistic astrology revival via the work of astrologers such as Robert Schmidt, Demetra George, and Chris Brennan.

It’s a potent technique for providing insight into time periods of heightened activity in one’s career as well as the ups and downs one experiences in life. Zodiacal releasing offers a nuanced perspective into unfolding life narratives, serving as a tool for reflecting upon past and present storylines as well as looking forward to future developments.

The course will take place on five consecutive Saturdays starting at 10 am in the pacific time zone. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to gain deeper understanding for the nuances of zodiacal releasing and practice with the technique while also having live instruction and feedback on assignments. Kepler College will also have a discussion forum set up for the course.

I first learned zodiacal releasing from Chris Brennan and his Hellenistic Astrology course and then directly from Demetra George in a retreat she taught on timelord techniques. In the Kepler College course we will read from the text by Vettius Valens in which the technique has survived and explore the details of his interpretation through chart examples we will discuss as a group. We will also explore the ways in which the technique has been recovered and developed by astrologers such as Chris Brennan and Demetra George.

The required reading for the course will be Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune by Chris Brennan. Chris Brennan currently has a sale on his book through the end of December that you can access through the link here.

It will be important to have at least a beginning level of understanding of Hellenistic astrology and concepts such as whole sign houses, sect (day versus night charts), and assessing planetary condition. Chris Brennan’s book is an excellent resource to read and study prior to the start of the course. Demetra George’s two volumes on Ancient Astrology are another excellent resource.

In addition, I will be offering a free webinar for Kepler College about the Lots of Fortune and Daimon (aka Spirit) on 13 January 2024. Watching this webinar will be a prerequisite for the course. You can register for the webinar in the link here.
