In fact, some Hellenistic astrologers gave the same weight of importance to the Lot of Fortune and its ruler as they gave to the ascendant and its ruler. Both lots involve the relationship between the Sun and Moon with the ascendant, with the Lot of Fortune emphasizing the bodily matters of the Moon and the Lot of Daimon focusing upon the soulful intentions of the Sun.
