I am thrilled to announce that I will be helping my friend and colleague Jason Holley lead a pilgrimage to sacred sites of Greece this September.
Jason and I have been friends now for over a Jupiter cycle, and share a love of myth, astrology, and living symbolism. Included in our shared devotion are the Greek deities Hestia and Hermes, who will be the tutelary guiding spirits of our time together in Greece. Our opening dinner will begin with the waxing crescent Moon applying toward a conjunction with Venus in Libra, with the asteroid Vesta (one of the astrological forms of Hestia) setting on the western horizon. Our trip will conclude with a conjunction between Mercury and Vesta in Virgo on the final day of our journey.
Hermes as the god of the road will be present as we make daily trips to sacred sites from the home bases of our pilgrimage, while Hestia of the hearth will be present as we return to center and coherence in group gatherings.
Our tour will begin in Athens from where we will tour the Akropolis and journey to the Temple of Poseidon and the sacred sanctuary of Artemis at Brauron. We will also visit Delphi, Epidavros, Eleusis, the Heraion of Perachora, the Temple of Apollo at Bassae, the Foloi Forest, and the Temple of Zeus in Olympia amongst others. Please read the itinerary here for details.
I particularly like the way Jason described the experience of pilgrimage in his written description of the tour on his website (which you can read here): “Places — land, temples, rivers, mountains — carry memory, and the stories of the ancients are woven into the lands we will visit. Having been to Greece many times over the years, it has proven personally pivotal to me to visit these places where the gods of astrological pantheon were born, lived, petitioned, and worshiped. Pilgrimage is a deep attending to the mythic in oneself and our shared world, a way to weave and unweave the stories in ourselves with each step we take together.”

Thank you for sharing. The photo attribution is from my friend Jason who took the photo. It’s my understanding that the the Erechtheion associated with this structure is also known as the Temple of Athena Polias – it at least says so on sites such as wikipedia. In any event, I am fascinated by the Erechtheion having connection with stories of Erechtheus and Erichthonius and plan to talk about them.
Hi Gray,
This is a wonderful pilgrimage in Greece for tracing back the ancient places like the Akropolis and the temple of Poseidon – especially for astrologers interested in Hellenistic astrology.
As I live in Europe, this trip will be interesting for me personally, but no international flight is necessary of course.
This flight is included in your costs from the US.
I am not sure, if I have time to meet you and the group in Greece, but I am delighted to hear back from you about this opportunity, if you have any idea.
Thank you!
