12-Session Online Experiential Astrology Course

$685 / person – by December 22, 2025

$725 / person – after December 22, 20255

Maximum 14 participants per section

This experiential astrology course is an in-depth exploration of the three planets the ancients considered a part of the Night sect: the Moon, Venus, and Mars. I will be co-faciliating the course with Jason Holley.

In a small group setting (no more than 14 in each section), we engage the stories and images as they have been seen and shared across time, developing a multidimensional and comprehensive experience of each beyond ‘keywords’ and traits.  We enter and participate in the stories directly through action methods including writing, movement, dreamwork, art-making, astrodrama; and we study them in the horoscopes and transits of participants through both technical delineation and facilitated imagination.  You will come to understand these planets and the range of stories, feelings, sensations, desires, dreams, action urges, and relational orientations they carry; and also, be a part of a re-dreaming and re-weaving of the myths and stories we so need in contemporary times.  As well, you will develop skills in astrological interpretation, working with symbolism and myth, and the arts of divination, healing, and initiation that these planets teach.

Mapping 2026 Course

I’m excited to announce a new course on astrology transits focused upon the extraordinary astrological cycles coming together in 2026. The Mapping 2026course will prepare you for the major astrological transits and themes of 2026 and how they impact your natal chart. If you’re new to tracking transits you’ll learn how to connect the movements of the planets to how they activate life topics in your birth chart. If you already enjoy tracking transits you’ll gain some new insights for how to come into relationship with them.

We’ll focus specifically on the transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in 2026. Paying attention to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto is always important with transits, but they will be unusually important in 2026 due to all three of them forming important connections with one another. They will also finally solidify their transits in sign placements that will take us through the rest of this decade: Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. If you’re looking to deepen your understanding for the transits of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto this course will draw upon the astrological tradition, mythology, and my extensive experience to provide you with multivalent perspectives on each one.

Time and Date: Saturdays at 10 am Pacific Time (Dec 20, Jan 3, Jan 10, Jan 17)

We will meet four times for live classes on Saturdays between December 20 and January 17, skipping the week of December 27. You will receive a pre-recorded video before each live class. Each live class will be 90 minutes in length.

Zodiacal Releasing Course

I’m pleased to announce that enrollment is open for my Zodiacal Releasing coursewith Kepler College! In this five week course you’ll learn all you need to know to begin utilizing the Zodiacal Releasing timing technique. I’ve also had many students in the past who were already familiar with the technique deepen their understanding and usage of the technique through completing my course. This will be the third time that I’ve taught Zodiacal Releasing for Kepler College and there is currently an early registration discount if you sign up before October 11.

Course Schedule: October 25 – November 22, 2025
Class Time: Saturdays, 10 am – 12 pm Pacific Time

What is Zodiacal Releasing?

Zodiacal Releasing is a Hellenistic astrology time lord technique that reveals the timing and multi-layered nature of pivotal events and peak experiences in powerful ways. Zodiacal Releasing is unlike any other astrological timing method because it creates archetypal timing structures based upon the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon, the lots of the Moon and the Sun. It can be a powerful way for understanding your personal narrative and different archetypal themes and dynamics that unfold similarly to different seasons or episodes of your life story.

Preserved in the writing of 2nd century astrologer Vettius Valens, methods for working with Zodiacal Releasing have been recovered over the past thirty years as part of the Hellenistic astrology revival via the work of astrologers such as Robert Schmidt and the community at Project Hindsight, Demetra George, and Chris Brennan. Although the instruction for Zodiacal Releasing given by Valens in the second century CE is the only surviving textual evidence for the technique, its potency has been proven by it becoming one of the most most popular and widely used time lord (from the Greek chronocrator) techniques to emerge out of the Hellenistic astrology revival of the early 21st century.

As a time lord technique, Zodiacal Releasing allots certain periods of time to certain planets during which time that planet’s meaning as found in the natal chart becomes activated and is given authority to further its natal agenda. Working with a time lord technique such as Zodiacal Releasing opens another perspective to add to other techniques you may already utilize such as transits or secondary progressions, as it brings us into a different relationship with time that makes connections between our personal narratives and archetypal themes that are released across our lifetime, like different chapters in a book or different seasons and episodes within a televised drama.

Zodiacal Releasing is only one of many time lord techniques from the Hellenistic era, but the reason it possesses such potent divinatory power is due to the symbolic significance of the Sun and the Moon and their lots: the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon. The Lot of Fortune and Lot of Daimon are calculated based upon the relationship between the zodiacal degrees of the Sun, Moon, and the ascendant, casting the soulful light of the luminaries from the rising intersection of soul, spirit, and body. Whereas the Lot of Fortune indicates material experiences of the soul incarnated into the bodily form associated with the Moon, the Lot of Daimon points to the immaterial, animating force within the soul associated with the Sun that inspires us to express our soulful purpose into the world.

Zodiacal releasing provides the timing for when the life matters signified by the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon will take form from their natal potential, and from a storytelling perspective reveals a narrative structure within which the drama of life develops. By considering the timing of Zodiacal Releasing for both the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon, we may glimpse into the mysterious unfoldment of the material prosperity and vocational calling indicated by the natal promise.

Why learn Zodiacal Releasing?

Zodiacal Releasing is a potent technique for providing insight into time periods of heightened activity in one’s vocation as well as the ups and downs one experiences in life. Zodiacal releasing offers a nuanced perspective into unfolding life narratives, serving as a tool for reflecting upon past and present storylines as well as looking forward to future developments. It can help people explore their vocational potential and the timing of it’s unfoldment, as well as the timing for inner turns of direction and soul calling.

If you are already familiar with the popular approach to Zodiacal Releasing that emphasizes “peak periods” angular to the Lot of Fortune, you’ll learn much more about the importance of considering the full natal context of the lords of the activated signs as well as other nuances that will add depth to your use of Zodiacal Releasing.

Secondary Progressions Course

Enrollment is open for the 2025 edition of my course Story Cycles: A Course on Secondary Progressions!

Course Schedule: July 19 – August 16, 2025
Class Time: Saturdays, 9 am – 10:30 am Pacific Time

What are Secondary Progressions?

Secondary progressions are a symbolic timing technique in which each day following birth corresponds to a year of life. Since the timing of secondary progressions is based upon the correspondence of our experience of one solar day with our experience of one solar year, it means that if we are calculating the secondary progressed chart for someone who is forty years old, we will be looking at the astrological chart cast for forty days after their birth. This means that if someone lives to be ninety years old, the transits and cycles of the planets for the ninety days following their birth will define the timing of the secondary progressions across their lifetime.

Everything in our natal chart moves through secondary progressions, and it reveals critical turning points and transitions in our story when planets change signs, station and change direction, cross natal angles, or form new aspects with natal placements or other progressed placements. For example, someone born with the Sun in Virgo will experience important shifts as the progressed Sun moves into Libra and then Scorpio.

Why learn Secondary Progressions?

Secondary Progressions are a practical, accurate, and symbolically rich addition to your astrological toolkit for forecasting future storylines, deepening awareness of past influences upon the present, and marking important life transitions and shifts in personal growth.

Because the fractal nature of secondary progressions is based on the ancient concept of the part equaling the whole, they are one of the most powerful astrological techniques for connecting the astrological cycles at our time of birth with the trajectory of our life story. From the vaster whole of our entire life narrative, secondary progressions help us come into a deeper relationship with the part of our overall story we are currently living. They are potent for reflecting upon past experiences as well as in helping you write the next chapter of your life.

Considering secondary progressions will significantly alter the interpretation of transits and any other timing technique you are using. It offers a key perspective that is necessary to take into account with anyone you are working with in astrology.

Story Cycles Course Description

Each week students will receive a pre-recorded class to watch prior to the live class session. In the live class session we will build upon the material shared in the pre-recorded class to deepen understanding, interpretation, and application of secondary progressions through numerous live chart examples. Each live class will be recorded for all participants to experience, whether you can attend it live or not. There will be supplementary material given as well as homework assignments for those seeking structured practice.

2025 Living Astrologies Conference

I’m excited to announce that I will be presenting at the first-of-its-kind, 2025 Living Astrologies Conference!

Why is this conference unique? There will be no power points. It won’t be virtually streamed at the same time to a virtual audience. All of the workshops have an experiential focus of involving participants in the astrology content through art, writing, movement, drama, visualization, and other experiential methods. Each day you will participate in one five hour workshop rather than moving back and forth between many different one to two hour lectures as often happens at conferences. It’s not taking place in hotel rooms with no windows, but rather in spaces with windows and access to the outdoors. There are special evening events planned that include astrodrama and dance, all connected with experiential astrology.

It’s taking place in Santa Fe and the conference will open with a river walk and orientation to the land. You can read more about the conference and register here:

https://livingastrologies.net/

I will be co-facilitating a workshop with my wife Genie Raftopolous entitled “Guardian Bear and the Key to the Imaginal.” Here’s the description:

“Astrology is an art of divination. Although knowledge of technique is necessary for astrologers to deliver guidance in consideration of stars and symbolism, divination can mysteriously lead us to insights that go beyond technique. Genie and Gray’s workshop will delve into the divinatory nature of astrology and how the act of divination necessitates opening to the liminal. Since this realm is teeming with spirits of all sorts of motivations, we want to enter the imaginal balanced and protected.

Gray and Genie will begin with a discussion on how divination has involved communion with daimons and intermediary spirits across time in a wide variety of cultures. Inspired by transiting Venus and the South Node of the Moon being near the degree of stars located in the Great Bear constellation during the time of the workshop, Genie and Gray will also discuss the rich history of circumpolar stars functioning as guardian protectors.

Genie and Gray will then guide participants in creating a collage image of a guardian daimon who will be your protector in divination. This guardian daimon could be an ancestor, a spirit you already work with, or the daimon of a planet or star. Each participant will receive a skeleton key and we will journey together with our daimon and key to unlock the doorway to the imaginal realm in an oracular exploration.”

If that sounds like something you want to attend, make sure to select our workshop when you register for the conference, as each workshop will have a limited number of attendees. I’m thrilled to be part of the origin story of this conference and invite you to join us.

Triton’s Cave

I hope you’ll join me in my new course for navigating the stormy seas of Saturn and Neptune, beginning Sunday 23 February. In the year ahead we will experience the extraordinary conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in the first degree of Aries, a key catalyst within the astrology of 2025 and 2026 that will shape a new era. Saturn and Neptune constellate tensions between the real and the ideal, with the certainty of consequences set against the uncertainty of possibility.

Click here for the link to enroll in the course.

Amidst the turbulent waves of Saturn and Neptune, we will find harbor in the cave of Triton who dwells at the bottom of the sea. Lover of the great intermediary Hekate, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite of the golden spindle, Triton stills the waves with his conch shell and delights in the bacchanalian play of dolphins, water nymphs, and the multiplicity of the sea. We will explore the living symbolism, spirits, and images of Saturn and Neptune, Pisces and Aries, Water and Fire, discovering how their relations can open us to the vast potential that can emerge in the years ahead.

With Saturn and Neptune ending and beginning their cycle while simultaneously moving back and forth across the threshold of Pisces and Aries, their combined potency for dissolving old reality constructs will birth new forms of vision. We will discuss how to resiliently navigate through their waves of disorientation and disillusionment in ways that will nourish creative responses rather than corrupt integrity.

We will look back upon past periods of Saturn and Neptune conjunctions while looking forward to the unique astrological context of their current cycle. There will be supplemental video and reading material provided and suggested reading, such as All About Love by bell hooks. We will focus on how you can relate to and mediate the way the astrology of 2025 and 2026 will impact your life, and give space for participants to share their questions, concerns, hopes, and visions of possibility. While the below outline gives an overview to the thematic content of each class, we will also be flexible in mutating curriculum to follow the interests of participants.

Course Schedule: February 23 – March 23, 2025

Tucson Astrologers’ Guild

I’m looking forward to giving some talks and a workshop in Tucson, Arizona in February 2025. If you live in the area I’d love to see you, otherwise the talk and workshop will also be available to watch online and receive a recording if you cannot attend live. You can register for the events with the Tucson Astrology Guild in this link here.

On Friday 7 February at 7 pm in the Mountain time zone, I will be giving the talk “The Fiery Forge of Saturn and Neptune on the World Axis.”

In the year ahead we will experience the extraordinary conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in the first degree of Aries, a key catalyst within the astrology of 2025 and 2026 that will shape a new era. With Saturn and Neptune ending and beginning their cycle while simultaneously moving back and forth across the threshold of Pisces and Aries, their activation of the World Axis at zero degrees of Aries will amplify their combined potency for dissolving old reality constructs while simultaneously giving birth to new forms of vision.

Saturn and Neptune constellate tensions between limits and the limitless, the real and the ideal, conditional constraints and unconditional openness, and the certainty of consequences set against the uncertainty of possibility. Fused together, Saturn and Neptune signify deception as well as eternal truths beyond the status quo of consensus reality. We will need to navigate through their waves of disorientation and disillusionment in ways that will nourish creative responses rather than corrupt integrity.

We will look back upon past periods of Saturn and Neptune conjunctions while looking forward to the unique astrological context of their current cycle and how we can gracefully and resiliently steer our ships through their stormy sea together.

On Saturday 8 February from 1 – 4:30 pm in Mountain time zone, I will be sharing a workshop entitled “The Light and Shadow of Mercury in Secondary Progressions.” You can register for this workshop with the Tucson Astrology Guild in this link here.

The changeable nature of Mercury is found in its synodic cycle and shifts between being direct and retrograde, visible and invisible. Tracking the shift between Mercury’s phases with the Sun in secondary progressions is a powerful technique for helping clients reflect upon their life story and envision the next chapter of their life.

In this workshop we will explore the meaning of Mercury’s solar phases and how they can be applied within secondary progressions to demarcate vital periods of personal development. Numerous case examples will be used to show how to apply Mercury’s movement within secondary progressions to the natal chart. Special attention will be given to the meaning found when Mercury shifts between being direct and retrograde as well as between being visible and invisible in secondary progressions.

Bring your natal chart and current secondary progressed chart, as we will spend time in small groups discussing the meaning of your current Mercury solar phase and aspects within secondary progressions.

In addition, I will be speaking on the COSME astrology podcast with astrologer Lisa Warman in front of a live audience on Sunday 2 February from 12 – 1:45 pm in the Mountain time zone. We will be discussing the significance of the upcoming Venus retrograde transit in Aries and Pisces. We’ll talk about the huge role Venus retrograde will be playing in the astrology of 2025 as well as talking about the general meaning of Venus retrograde periods and past examples from the cycle. For more information you can check out the COSME website here and their Instagram page here.

Through the Looking Glass with Neptune in Aries

Through the Looking Glass with Neptune in Aries

I’m excited to announce I’ll be teaching a webinar exploring the meaning of Neptune’s 2025 entrance into Aries on Sunday 19 January at 10 am in Pacific Time.

The ingress of Neptune into Aries on 30 March is a key catalyst within the astrology of 2025 that will shape a new era. We will have almost seven months to begin adjusting to the luminosity of Neptune in Aries this year before fully immersing ourselves within its fourteen year transit. As Neptune shifts from Pisces to Aries, spirited sparks of inspiration will galvanize action and focus the imaginal fire of the mind on targets like a spear thrust by Athena. The blazing heat of Aries combined with its cardinal nature will embolden the imaginal force of Neptune, encouraging daring leaps toward idealized dreams. Just like flames ascending to the heavens above, Neptune in the fiery exaltation of the Sun will kindle creative revelations and inspire yearning to merge with the divine. Yet many will also risk becoming inflated by the heat of inner fire, making it of paramount importance to be aware of the illusory side of Neptune in the domicile of Mars. The wish fulfillment of Neptune will catch fire in Aries, spreading visions of change quickly like wildfire. We will be called to seek some sort of golden fleece while Neptune is in Aries, and so we will need to be mindful of not becoming fleeced by chasing after false grails while on fool’s errands.

In order to prepare for the heroic quests enflamed by Neptune in Aries, we will spend part of the webinar looking back at past periods of Neptune transiting Aries, as well as consider the crucial significance of Saturn also entering Aries in 2025 and forming a conjunction with Neptune on the world axis in the first degree of Aries. When Saturn and Neptune merge, old reality constructs disintegrate while new forms of vision coagulate out of the dissolution. Though Neptune in Aries throughout time has corresponded with civil unrest, divisions, and great schisms, amidst the strife of creation it has also consistently correlated with a shattering of status quo beliefs and breakthrough innovations and reforms that overturn previous orthodoxy. Step through the looking glass of Neptune in Aries to discover how you can use its spirit fire to shape new forms of inspired imagination.

The webinar will be two hours in length and recorded to share with all registered participants, whether you are able to attend live or not. Cost is $30. You can buy a ticket through this link here using PayPal. If you would prefer to use Venmo send me an email to consultation@graycrawford.net and I can arrange payment with you.

The Mysteries of Ceres-13

The Mysteries of Ceres

On Friday 13 December at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST, I will be giving a talk for the Astrology Society of Kentucky about the dwarf planet Ceres, queen of the asteroid belt.

Description:

The celestial body Ceres was originally thought to be a planet when discovered. It was later demoted to asteroid status and has now been promoted to being a dwarf planet on equal astronomical footing with Pluto. Ceres is the queen of the asteroid belt whose astrological meaning resonates with the mythology of her namesake Demeter. In Greek myth Demeter brought both the gift of grain and the mysteries to humanity, nurturing both our material and spiritual capacities and relationships. We will explore the astrological meaning of Ceres and how her significations in natal charts connect with the mythology of Demeter. We will also examine her synodic cycle and how during our solar return years of 23, 46, and 69 we experience a Ceres return in which Ceres in the solar return chart is near the same degree she was in our birth chart.

If you are not a member and would like to attend please email The Astrological Society of Kentucky for the Zoom Link at: astrologicalsocietyofkentucky@gmail.com

Mars & Saturn promo-1

I’m excited to announce I will be teaching a two-day online workshop on Mars and Saturn for the NCGR-NYC astrology chapter on October 5 and October 12. Entitled “Bad Boys: What to do about Mars and Saturn,” it will be an opportunity to delve deeper into relationship with Mars and Saturn and their impact in natal charts.

Saturn and Mars are the two malefic planets in astrological tradition whose significations are said to be hostile to life. While Saturn and Mars do, in fact, bring hardships, fears and dangers, in reality they can also be factors in the story of our achievements, self-realization and development of character.

In our first class on October 5th, we will explore the planetary natures of Saturn and Mars and the impact they make in nativities through their aspects.

In our second class on October 12th, we will explore the nuances of Mars and Saturn that come from carefully delineating the meaning of their house placements and the life topics they manage in nativities.

The classes will take place over two consecutive Saturdays in October: October 5th and 12th from 10 am – Noon Pacific Time / 1 pm – 3 pm Eastern Time.

Cost is $30 (including both classes). Live participation in each class is strongly encouraged, and recordings of each class will be sent to all registered participants. Zoom links for each class will be sent to participants ahead of time.

Experiencing the Olympian Gods: Sacred Sites Pilgrimage in Greece

I am thrilled to announce that I will be helping my friend and colleague Jason Holley lead a pilgrimage to sacred sites of Greece this September 4 – 15, 2024.

Jason and I have been friends now for over a Jupiter cycle, and share a love of myth, astrology, and living symbolism. Included in our shared devotion are the Greek deities Hestia and Hermes, who will be the tutelary guiding spirits of our time together in Greece. Our opening dinner will begin with the waxing crescent Moon applying toward a conjunction with Venus in Libra, with the asteroid Vesta (one of the astrological forms of Hestia) setting on the western horizon. Our trip will conclude with a conjunction between Mercury and Vesta in Virgo on the final day of our journey.

Hermes as the god of the road will be present as we make daily trips to sacred sites from the home bases of our pilgrimage, while Hestia of the hearth will be present as we return to center and coherence in group gatherings.

Our tour will begin in Athens from where we will tour the Akropolis and journey to the Temple of Poseidon and the sacred sanctuary of Artemis at Brauron. We will also visit Delphi, Epidavros, Eleusis, the Heraion of Perachora, the Temple of Apollo at Bassae, the Foloi Forest, and the Temple of Zeus in Olympia amongst others. Please read the itinerary here for details.

I particularly like the way Jason described the experience of pilgrimage in his written description of the tour on his website (which you can read here): “Places — land, temples, rivers, mountains — carry memory, and the stories of the ancients are woven into the lands we will visit. Having been to Greece many times over the years, it has proven personally pivotal to me to visit these places where the gods of astrological pantheon were born, lived, petitioned, and worshiped. Pilgrimage is a deep attending to the mythic in oneself and our shared world, a way to weave and unweave the stories in ourselves with each step we take together.”

story-cycles-course-graphic-1

Course Schedule: June 22 – July 27, 2024
Class Time: Saturdays, 10 am – 12 pm Pacific Time
Additional Live Discussion Sessions: July 1 and July 15, 5:30 – 7 pm Pacific Time

We will also utilize an online forum channel where you can post questions and share learning with other course participants.

Course Description:

Secondary progressions are a symbolic timing technique in which each day following birth corresponds to a year of life. It’s a potent addition to your astrological toolkit for forecasting future storylines, deepening awareness of past influences upon the present, and marking important life transitions and shifts in personal growth.

Each class will be recorded for all participants to experience, whether you can attend it live or not. There will be supplementary material given as well as homework assignments for those seeking structured practice.

Week One: Saturday, 22 June 2024

Solar Storytelling: The Sun in Secondary Progressions

The first class will begin with an introduction to the concept of secondary progressions and then shift into a focus on the importance of the Sun in secondary progressions. The Sun is at the center of the symbolic meaning underlying secondary progressions making it especially important. We will explore how the movement of the Sun in secondary progressions marks important life transitions and evolutions in personality. We’ll explore how the Sun changing signs, houses, and aspects through secondary progressions will pinpoint pivotal turning points in your overall narrative, increasing understanding of past, present, and future chapters of your story.

Week Two: Saturday, 29 June 2024

Moon Time in Secondary Progressions

The second class will focus on the Moon in secondary progressions. We will explore how the astrological meaning of the Moon applies to secondary progressions and how the movement of the progressed Moon mirrors changes we experience within our psychology and personality as well as external events in our life story. We will learn about the timing of the Moon’s cycle within secondary progressions, including the importance of the progressed lunar return and the Moon’s movement across angles and other important points in the natal chart. Since the Moon has the greatest daily speed in astrology, it is the fastest moving entity in secondary progressions and therefore displays the greatest change in sign and house placement. We will illuminate the meaning of the Moon shifting between elements, sign modalities, and house topics. We will also discuss the meaning of the Moon in secondary progressions making new aspects with natal placements as well as other progressed placements.

Week Three: Saturday, 6 July 2024

Cyclic Storytelling: Progressed Lunar Phases

One of the most powerful components of secondary progressions is the cyclic timing of the progressed lunar cycle. We will apply what we have already learned about the progressed Sun and the progressed Moon in the first two classes into learning about the changing relationship between the progressed Sun and progressed Moon and how they create distinct chapters of our life story through the changes we experience in progressed lunar phases. Understanding the progressed lunar phase for someone enables you to have a clearer understanding of what phase of their life story they are currently living. We will use an eight-phase cycle for the Moon, exploring the meaning of the New Moon Phase, the Crescent Moon Phase, the First Quarter Phase, the Gibbous Phase, the Full Moon Phase, the Disseminating Phase, the Last Quarter Phase, and the Balsamic Phase.

Week Four: Saturday, 13 July 2024

The Light and Shadow of Mercury in Secondary Progressions

The fourth class will delve into the meaning of Mercury in secondary progressions and the importance of Mercury changing signs, crossing angles, and forming new aspects with natal and progressed placements. We will also learn how tracking the shift between Mercury’s phases with the Sun in secondary progressions is a powerful way to help people reflect upon their life story and envision the next chapter of their life. We will learn the meaning of Mercury’s solar phases and how they can be applied within secondary progressions to demarcate vital periods of personal development. Special attention will be given to the meaning found when Mercury shifts between being direct and retrograde as well as between being visible and invisible in secondary progressions.

Week Five: Saturday, 20 July 2024

The Mirror of Venus in Secondary Progressions

The fifth class will reveal the significance of Venus in secondary progressions. We will learn how Venus changing signs in secondary progressions can mirror changes we experience in our relationships, including inner shifts in desires that create changes in relational dynamics with others. We will also consider how the movement of Venus in secondary progression reflects changes in values, aesthetics, tastes, and creative expression we experience in life. However, the shifts of Venus in secondary progressions are not only about how our relationship desires and creative aesthetics change. We will discuss the need to understand the meaning of Venus in the natal chart and the additional house topics that the movement of Venus in secondary progressions will mirror. Special attention will also be given to understanding the solar cycle of Venus and its meaning within secondary progressions. We will spend extra time exploring the significance of the Venus retrograde phase in secondary progressions.

Week Six: Saturday, 27 July 2024

Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Beyond

The final class will explore the slower-moving planets whose orbits are outside the orbit of Earth. We will primarily focus on the meaning of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn in secondary progressions but will also consider examples of when Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto become important factors in secondary progressions. We will also learn about the synodic cycles of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn and the phases of their cycle that are especially impactful in secondary progressions. Numerous examples will show the ways in which Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn can define important chapters of personal stories in secondary progressions.

General Advert NORWAC 2024

NORWAC 2024

May 23 – 27, 2024

I will be giving two talks at NORWAC, the Northwest Astrological Conference, in 2024. It will be taking place 23 May – 27 May 2024 in the Seattle, Washington area. However, this is also a hybrid-virtual conference and so if you are not able to travel to Seattle you can attend online. Register here.

My first talk is entitled “Symbolic Time: Integrating Secondary Progressions into your Practice” and will take place on Friday 24 May at 4:15 pm in Pacific time.

Secondary progressions are a symbolic timing technique in which each day following birth corresponds to a year of life. It’s a potent addition to your toolkit for forecasting future storylines, deepening awareness of past influences upon the present, and marking important life transitions and shifts in personal growth. We’ll explore how to integrate secondary progressions with other timing techniques and how its lens alters chart synthesis, focusing on key aspects of the technique you can utilize in natal consultations.

My second talk is entitled “Reaping the Imaginal: Saturn and Neptune in Natal Charts” and will take place on Sunday 26 May at 1:45 pm in Pacific time.

In the next few years we will experience a quality of time heavily influenced by the conjunction between Saturn and Neptune in 2026. As Saturn’s cyclical relationship with Neptune has correlated with the dissolution of old orders and the emergence of idealistic movements, it’s vital for all of us to deepen our awareness of Saturn and Neptune dynamics. We’ll explore the meaning of the Saturn and Neptune cycle and how to interpret their aspects and phase relationship in natal charts.

zodiacal releasing course announce

Zodiacal Releasing Course

10 February – 9 March 2024

I will be teaching a five week course on Zodiacal Releasing for Kepler College beginning on Saturday 10 February 2024.

Zodiacal Releasing is a Hellenistic astrology timelord technique that reveals the timing and multi-layered nature of pivotal events and peak experiences in ways that are unlike any other astrological timing method.

Preserved in the writing of 2nd century astrologer Vettius Valens, methods for working with Zodiacal Releasing have been recovered over the past thirty years as part of the Hellenistic astrology revival via the work of astrologers such as Robert Schmidt, Demetra George, and Chris Brennan.

It’s a potent technique for providing insight into time periods of heightened activity in one’s career as well as the ups and downs one experiences in life. Zodiacal releasing offers a nuanced perspective into unfolding life narratives, serving as a tool for reflecting upon past and present storylines as well as looking forward to future developments.

Lots of Fortune and Daimon Webinar

13 January 2024

I will be sharing a free webinar entitled “Points of Destiny: Using the Lots of Daimon and Fortune” for Kepler College on Saturday 13 January 2024 at 10 am in Pacific time.

Integrating the Lots of Fortune and Daimon (aka Spirit) into your astrological practice will reveal potent insights into the prosperity, well-being, vocation, and soul purpose of the clients you work with.

In fact, some Hellenistic astrologers gave the same weight of importance to the Lot of Fortune and its ruler as they gave to the ascendant and its ruler. Both lots involve the relationship between the Sun and Moon with the ascendant, with the Lot of Fortune emphasizing the bodily matters of the Moon and the Lot of Daimon focusing upon the soulful intentions of the Sun.

In this webinar we’ll explore the meaning of the Lots of Fortune and Daimon and how to integrate them into your practice, including how to work with “Fortune charts” and “Daimon charts” in which the Lots of Fortune and Daimon serve as the ascendant.

NORWAC 2023

May 25 – 29, 2023

I will be speaking as part of an exemplary gathering of astrologers at the 2023 Northwest Astrology Conference (NORWAC) that will take place from May 25 – 29, 2023 in the Seattle, Washington area. You can attend in-person or virtually. I will be giving two talks.

My first talk will take place on Saturday 27 May 2023 at 10:30 am and is entitled Far from Home: Inversions of Planets Opposing their Domicile.

“Planets occupying the zodiacal sign opposite their domicile (ex Venus in Scorpio) are as far away from their home sign as possible within the zodiac, a condition that became known as being in “detriment.” Full of tension and creative potential, planets occupying their opposite sign take on an inverted quality that can bring feelings of alienation yet also bring about the emergence of new ideas from counter-cultural perspectives. We’ll explore the complexity and nuances of these placements in natal charts.”

My second talk will take place on Sunday 28 May 2023 at 3:45 pm and is entitled The Moon in the Four Elemental Roots.

“The Moon experiences different affinities, sensations, associations, and other lunar qualities when placed in earth, water, air, or fire signs. We’ll dive deep into the symbolism of each of the four astrological elements and how they distinctly color the expression of the Moon in natal charts. We’ll also explore the way in which lunar phases modulate the expression of the Moon within each element, depending on if the Moon is in a waxing, full, or waning phase.”

Register for the conference here, and to read more about attending the conference virtually on-line or in person.  See the full schedule here and a list of speakers here.

I hope to see you there!

I’m giving a webinar on the 12th House for the ISAR Star Club on Sunday, July 3 at 12 pm Pacific / 3 pm Eastern time. Here’s the description:

Shadow Casting of the 12th House

The twelfth house has a difficult reputation in astrological lore. Known as the place of the bad daimon where Saturn finds joy, it has associations with solitude, loss, and suffering. Yet it is also a liminal place in between time and space, symbolized by the Sun’s rise at dawn cracking open the darkness of night with its radiant light. Like our ancestors who erected stones to cast the shadows of the rising sun, we may discover rich resources within the darkness of the twelfth house in spite of the difficulties inherent within its terrain. We’ll explore the depth of meaning to be found in the twelfth house in natal charts as well as timing techniques.

secondary progressions course title card

Secondary Progressions Course

I’m excited to announce a six week course on secondary progressions beginning on November 7 and running through December 12, 2020.

Secondary progressions are known as one of the most important cycles of personal development in astrology, especially in terms of exploring the trajectory of our life narrative and predicting key turning points in our story. In case you are unfamiliar, secondary progressions are based upon the symbolic correspondence between our experience of one solar day and one solar year. This is based upon the ancient concept of the part equaling the whole and how bringing awareness to the part can illuminate the whole.

With secondary progressions we are engaging a symbolic equivalence between our experience of a solar day with the Sun rising, culminating and setting with our experience of a solar year and the Sun moving through all of the signs of the zodiac along the ecliptic from our geocentric perspective. As a result, when calculating a secondary progressed chart for someone turning thirty years old, you are essentially casting a chart based upon thirty days after their birth.

Regarding our overall life story, tracking and reflecting upon secondary progressions can help with figuring out what part of someone’s life story they are in right now. From the vaster whole of our entire life narrative, we can come into deeper relationship with what part or chapter of the overall story we are in. As a result, secondary progressions can be potent for reflecting upon past experiences as well as helping you in writing the next chapter of your life.

The natal chart is a living symbol of the moment we are born into, yet it’s common for people to conceive of their natal chart as something static with fixed aspects between the planets. Rather than the frozen moment of our birth, secondary progressions tap us into not only the moment of birth but where that moment is moving within all of the cycles between planets. For example, you may be born with a waxing crescent Moon in your natal chart but through secondary progressions you will live through all of the phases of the Moon.

Considering secondary progressions is important because the nature of one’s present secondary progressions will significantly alter interpretation of transits and any other timing technique you are using. It also brings a different perspective from solely focusing on the natal chart, transits, and timing techniques.

In addition, since the lunar phases of the Moon and the solar phases of each planet are essential to pay attention to with secondary progressions, as an added bonus you will gain knowledge regarding the synodic cycle of each planet with the Sun through this course.

“Story Cycles: A Course in Secondary Progressions” will occur weekly on Saturdays from 10 am until 12 pm in Pacific standard time. I will cover a different aspect of secondary progressions each week in this two hour class through a live Zoom meeting that will be recorded for all participants to download, whether you can attend it live or not. There will be supplementary material given as well as homework assignments.

There will also be a one hour session on Tuesdays from 6 – 7 pm in which I will answer questions from course participants through a Zoom meeting. This session will also be recorded for all participants to download and view at your convenience.

Total cost: $300 (payment plans are possible: contact me at consultation@graycrawford.net to discuss options)

Course Schedule:

  1. Saturday, November 7 (10 am – 12 pm PST)

Special attention will be given to the movement of the Sun by secondary progression across different houses of the natal chart with examples.
  2. Saturday, November 14 (10 am – 12 pm PST)
    • The Moon in secondary progressions. We will cover the meaning of the Moon within secondary progressions, it’s timing, and the significance of it changing house and sign as well as element and modality. Special attention will be given to the progressed lunar phases created by the relationship between the progressed Moon and the progressed Sun. We will explore the meaning of each progressed lunar phase with examples for discussion.

In particular we will explore the meaning of Mercury stationing retrograde, it’s retrograde phase, and stationing direct by progression.
  5. Tuesday, November 24 (6 – 7 pm PST)
    • Live question and answer session covering Mercury.
  6. Saturday, November 28 (10 am – 12 pm PST)

We will explore the synodic cycles of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn and the significance of them stationing retrograde or direct by progression. We will spend more time on Mars than the planets beyond Mars due to Mars being more dynamic by secondary progression due to it moving faster than the planets beyond it in orbit.
  9. Tuesday, December 8 (6 – 7 pm PST)
    • Final live question and answer session
  10. Saturday, December 12 (10 am – 12 pm PST)
    • Final project presentations and final summary. Planets in Fall and the Spirit of the Depths

I’m excited to announce I will be presenting as part of Nightlight Astrology’s Spring Speaker Series, which is free to attend and taking place online, on May 10th, 16th and 17th. My talk is entitled “Planets in Fall and the Spirit of the Depths” and will be all about the meaning to be found with planets in fall in natal charts. It will take place on Saturday, May 16 at 1 pm EST.

Description: The Greek term for a planet being in its fall has been translated as a low lying place, like being brought down into a depression in the ground. Planets in fall have also been associated with states of depression and depressing circumstances, in contrast to the ideal heights associated with planets in exaltation. We will explore the essential balance between planets in fall and exaltation, what it means to be born with a planet in fall in your natal chart, and imagine together how to work with the descent into depths we can experience with a planet in fall. What wisdom and self realization can we gather from the dark places that planets in fall bring us to?

Psyche & Eros: the Fall of Venus & Mercury

I’m excited to announce I will be speaking at the 2019 Northwest Astrological Conference to be held May 24 – 27, 2019 in Seattle, WA (well, technically at the Southcenter Doubletree Suites).

NORWAC always has a welcoming atmosphere and features many fantastic speakers at the 2019 gathering. Check the full schedule here.

I will be speaking Saturday, May 25 at 3:45 pm on “Psyche and Eros: the Fall of Venus and Mercury.” I will be using the “Psyche and Eros” story contained in the Hellenistic novel The Golden Ass by Apuleius to bring a more poetic, imaginative understanding to the meaning of “Fall” placements. Venus and Mercury form a polarity of exaltation and fall along the Pisces and Virgo axis, with Venus being exalted in Pisces and in fall in Virgo, and Mercury being exalted in Virgo and in fall in Pisces. Since Aphrodite and Eros are the mythic fish in the Pisces constellation, and the two main co-stars of Psyche in the story, the “Psyche and Eros” story will serve as a medium to deepen our understanding of what having Venus or Mercury in their “fall” can mean.

Description:

What meaning can be found in the fall of Venus in Virgo and Mercury in Pisces? This talk will imaginally explore the nuances of Venus and Mercury in their fall through the telling of the tale Psyche and Eros. Eros and Aphrodite are the fish in the Pisces constellation and Psyche’s co-stars in her underworld journey into wholeness through the daimon of love. We’ll dive into the challenges and gifts found in the “fallen” polarity of Virgo and Pisces.

I hope to see you there! To register and book a room at the hotel where the conference will be held, go to norwac.net

The Light and Shadow of Mercury in the Secondary Progressed Chart

The changeable nature of Mercury is found in its synodic cycle and its shifts between being direct and retrograde.  The meaning of Mercury’s cycles will be applied to the secondary progressed chart, where Mercury’s movement across a lifetime demarcates vital periods of personal development. Gray will explain how to interpret the shift of progressed Mercury from being direct to retrograde and vice versa, and what to pay attention to in relation to the natal chart.

I am excited to be the May speaker for the Washington State Astrological Association.  The WSAA meeting will be taking place at the Puget Sound Yacht Club, 2321 N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103.  Click here fore the WSAA website and information on how to order tickets. If you live in the greater Seattle area and are not already a member of the WSAA, I encourage you to join- there are many great speakers who present for the WSAA, including Demetra George in April 2019.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

I will be presenting a workshop on the Guardian Daimon along with June Rose Trimbach for the NCGR chapter in Santa Fe, New Mexico on the weekend of  September 14 and 15, 2018. For a link to the event page for the Santa Fe NCGR chapter, click here

Description:

In this two-day workshop we will be learning about the ancient spiritual concept of the guardian daimon, also known as the guardian angel or guiding star. The guardian daimon watches over a life and guides us to fulfill our life purpose. In the Friday night lecture we will learn about the rich background of the daimon from antiquity to modern times, and consider why it is meaningful in astrology.

The Saturday workshop will begin with an in-depth look at some of our favorite techniques for exploring the daimon in a natal chart, drawing upon an ancient lineage of astrological thought. We will also discuss how you can encounter the guardian daimon directly through theurgy, which can be translated as ‘gods working through you’. We will open ourselves to the experience of theurgy through a ceremony of guided visualization with intention to commune with one’s daimon. There will be plenty of time to share, reflect and explore these ideas within your own chart. Please bring a copy of your natal chart, a notebook, non-messy art supplies. It is also optional to bring bio-degradable offerings for the spirits (flowers, grains, stones, natural beads, simple food without strong odor, etc).

United Astrology Conference

May 24 – 29, 2018

I will be speaking at the United Astrology Conference in May 2018 which will be held in Chicago, Illinois in the USA.  I’m honored to be part of an extraordinary group of astrologers who will be presenting a wide ranging selection of astrology topics.  It will be the biggest astrological event to be held in the next few years, and the most exciting!  For more information including how to order copies of the audio recordings please visit the website:

https://www.uacastrology.com

I will be presenting two talks.  The first is entitled “The Light and Shadow of Mercury in the Secondary Progressed Chart” and will be taking place on Friday, May 25 at 11 am. This talk is about Mercury in the Secondary Progressed chart, and will be focused on teaching the meaning found within the secondary progressed synodic cycle of Mercury, an aspect of interpreting progressed charts that brings in a vital element in addition to other aspects such as focusing upon the progressed lunation phase. Description:

The changeable nature of Mercury is found in its synodic cycle and its shifts between being direct and retrograde. The meaning of Mercury’s cycles will be applied to the secondary progressed chart, where Mercury’s movement across a lifetime demarcates vital periods of personal development. Gray will explain how to interpret the shift of progressed Mercury from being direct to retrograde and vice versa, and what to pay attention to in relation to the natal chart.

The second talk will be taking place on Saturday, May 26 at 9 am. It is all about the Uranus opposition we experience in midlife, and is entitled “Radical Awakening: Uranus Opposition.” Description:

The Uranus opposition that occurs as we enter the mid-life of our forties has a deservedly dramatic reputation. Known as a lightning strike of revelation within cycles of personal development, it brings shakeups that upend the previous status quo of our life. This talk will explore ways to respond to the liberating impulses that arise in correspondence, as well as its connection to transits involving Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto that lead into it.

If you are coming to UAC, I hope to see you there. Make sure to come up and say hello. It would be great to meet any of you who will be there in person!

FOUNDATIONS OF ASTROLOGY COURSE

Co-taught by Gray Crawford and June Rose Trimbach

Gray Crawford and June Rose Trimbach are excited to announce an interactive webinar course uncovering the building blocks of the art of astrology.  If you’re at the beginning stages of learning astrology or at a more advanced stage and looking to fill any gaps in your knowledge, this class will give you a firm understanding of the symmetry and power in the foundations.  If you choose to participate, we will be looking at the natal charts of individuals in the class, so it’s also a great opportunity to deepen understanding of your own chart.

June Rose and Gray share a passion for traditional as well as modern astrological technique.  The class will serve as a bridge between modern and traditional astrology and clarify misconceptions about each perspective.  June Rose and Gray both come from astrological lineages that inquire about the soul and its relationship to the material world.  When appropriate we may explore astrology as a spiritual discipline.

Weekly classes will be held on Sundays from January 21 through April 8, 2018 with no classes held the weekends of February 18 and March 25.  Classes will begin at 1:00 pm(Pacific standard time) and last for two hours.  Everyone will receive a recorded version of each class, so its not necessary to be present for the live classes though we encourage you to be present for as many of the classes as possible.  We will be using Zoom meetings for the classes.

There will also be one additional question and answer session each week held over Zoom where we will discuss any questions or concerns.  June Rose and Gray will also be available to answer questions over email.  Each class will have written homework assignments to turn in, and participants will receive detailed feedback on each assignment.

The final class is an opportunity for students to share final presentations that integrate knowledge gained through the course.

Total cost for the course is $200 and can be paid through PayPal.  Please email consultation@graycrawford.net to register for the class and a payment request will be sent to you.  Payment plans can be set up if necessary.  You will receive links for the weekly classes and question and answer sessions that will take place through Zoom meetings.

DAIMON: GUIDING SPIRIT OF THE NATIVITY

Sunday 29 October 2017

1:00 – 5:00 PM

Portland School of Astrology

I’m excited to announce I will be co-teaching an interactive workshop with June Rose Trimbach on the daimon in astrology at the Portland School of Astrology on October 29.  In this class we will be working with the Greek idea of a Daimon, which was incorporated into Hellenistic astrology by Porphyry in the late 3rd Century.  There is text from the ancient philosopher Heraclitus that has been translated as “Character for a human is his Daimon,” in addition to also being translated as “Character is destiny,” “A man’s character is his fate,” “A man’s individuality is his daimon,” and “A man’s character is the immortal and potentially divine part of him.” Using Dorian Greenbaum’s thesis The Daimon in Hellenistic Astrology: Origins and Influence as guide, we will explore the Daimon as a philosophical and spiritual concept. Then we will learn Porphyry’s technique to locate the Daimon as a guiding planet in the natal chart of an individual. We will all be working intimately with our own charts to find who this planet is and get to know them better, including through guided meditation. Using the imagery or feelings we receive from this experience, we will create devotional art pieces to enhance our connection with our personal Daimons.

While the technical astrology of the workshop is well-suited for intermediate and advanced students, novices and beginners will be helped along to locate their guardian planet and the rest of the class will be intuition. Please bring a copy of your natal chart to class.  Art supplies will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own additional art supplies they will want to use.

For details on the class including how to order tickets, please check the following link on the Portland School of Astrology website:

Friday 15 September & Saturday 16 September

On the weekend of September 15 and 16, I will be presenting a talk and workshop for the Oregon Astrology Association about relationships and astrology. On Friday 15 September I will be giving a talk on relational astrology in general, and then on Saturday 16 September I will be giving a workshop focused upon understanding evolving relational dynamics through the secondary progressed chart.

Our Astrological Narratives in Relationship

  • Friday, September 15, 2017
  • 7:00 – 9:30pm
  • $10 for OAA members, $15 for non-members

Understanding relationship dynamics is one of the primary reasons people delve deeper into astrology. Whether we desire to heal our own relationships or want to help clients gain insight into their relationships, a fundamental skill is discerning the relational narratives found in the natal chart. Once we become aware of the relationship story found in our birth chart, we arrive at a deeper understanding for why patterns continue to resurface in relationships and why certain types of partners appear in our lives. In this talk Gray Crawford will share methods for how to distill the diverse elements of astrology charts into a coherent relationship story that reveals why we have been engaging in the types of relationships we have been, as well as how our astrological narrative continues to evolve as our relationships change. This talk will also reflect upon how to effectively use synastry and composite techniques in astrology.

Opening to the Other – Relationships in Progression

  • Saturday, September 16, 2017
  • 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm
  • $40 for OAA members, $60 non-members

The secondary progressed chart is a powerful astrology technique that penetrates into the evolving quality of the natal chart across time. We know that as time passes so do our desires for relationship transform. This workshop will explore how changes in our secondary progressed chart reveal insight into how we are opening to the relationships of our life in new ways.  This workshop will both instruct as well as give space for participants to actively gain deeper understanding into how planets shifting signs and houses through progressions reflect the changes we experience in all of our diverse relationships.  We will also explore how the changes in the interpersonal dynamics within long-term relationships can be seen in the interplay between the changes in the progressed charts of each partner.

You can order tickets from the Oregon Astrological Association website

Beyond 2017:  Annual Astro Faire

Saturday 20 May 2017

11:30 am – 4:30 pm

4312 SE Stark St, Portland 97215 (Friend’s Meeting House)

I will be one of the speakers at the Oregon Astrological Association’s Annual Astro Faire taking place on Saturday, May 20.  There will be two other speakers- Mark Dodich speaking about the lunar nodes shifting into Aquarius and Leo, and Andrea Gehrz speaking about remediation ideas to deal with the major transits of the coming year.  At the end there will be a panel discussion among the three of us moderated by astrologer Melanie Gurley about the transits in the year ahead.

I will be giving the following talk about the transit of Jupiter and Uranus in the year ahead:

The opposition between Jupiter and Uranus we experience throughout 2017 has consistently brought liberating breakthroughs amid the death of old forms in world history.  The shattering and dissolution of old paradigms is especially resonant this year, as the Jupiter and Uranus opposition is occurring within waning cycles of release between Jupiter and Saturn with Neptune and Pluto.  We will explore historical and current correlations with the Jupiter and Uranus cycle, including their current placements in Libra and Aries as well as the eventual shift of Jupiter into Scorpio and Uranus into Taurus in the year ahead.

Relationships in Progressions

Saturday 12 November 2016

2 – 5 pm

Portland School of Astrology

Opening to the Other: Relationships in Progressions:

The secondary progressed chart is a powerful astrology technique that penetrates into the evolving quality of the natal chart across time. We know that as time passes so do our desires for relationship transform. The secondary progressed chart is one way to explore the correlations between the changes of our astrology with the changes of our relationships. For example, while one may be born with the Sun in Pisces and Venus in Aries, through the changes of the progressed chart you will become a Taurus Sun and Gemini Venus and open to a different realm of relationship as a result.

In this class Gray Crawford will teach students how to interpret the secondary progressed chart in terms of relationship, not only romantic relationships but collaborative relationships of all sorts. We will investigate what aspects of the secondary progressed chart can bring insight into our evolving desires for relationship and who or what we are attracting. We will also explore how the changes in the interpersonal dynamics within a relationship that lasts for many years can be seen in the interplay between the changes in the progressed charts of each partner.

Cost is $25 dollars, and work trade is available if you contact the Portland School of Astrology.  Click on the link below for complete information about this class:

Radio Interview on Mercury & Gemini

Astrology:  The Theory of Everything

I am excited to share an interview I did with astrologer Dr. Mary Jo Wevers about the sign of Gemini and its ruler Mercury on her radio show “Astrology: The Theory of Everything.” We spend a lot of time speaking about Mercury retrograde, and this show was in fact recorded right before Mercury stationed retrograde in Taurus on April 27, 2016.

Click the link below to listen:

http://www.voiceamerica.com/episode/91928/gemini-bridging-connections-and-navigating-changes-with-retrograde-mercury#.V2IbhlduLzJ

During the show I mentioned that when Mercury transited the Sun at its Inferior Conjunction it was conjoining its Heliocentric North Node. I learned this information from Dane Rudhyar and other astrologers, and astrologer Gary Caton corrected me (after this interview was recorded) by pointing out that if you actually look at the orbit of Mercury you can see that its Heliocentric South Node is actually Taurus. So, point being that when Mercury conjoined the Sun in May it was conjunct its Heliocentric South Node in Taurus, not its North Node.

Mercury Retrograde Guidance

On Thursday 12 May 2016 at 7 pm, I will be presenting a talk at New Renaissance Bookshop in Portland, Oregon on the meaning and experience of Mercury Retrograde in astrology. The cost will be $15.  New Renaissance Bookshop is located at 1338 NW 23rd Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97210.

Mercury Retrograde is not a time to fear, but instead presents unique opportunities for growth.  This talk will dispel popular misconceptions regarding Mercury Retrograde and illuminate how to effectively navigate the liminal space opened within it.  The changeable, protean nature of Mercury will be explored, revealing how Mercury mutates symbolically into its chthonic role of a Guide of Souls during its retrograde.  Correspondingly, Mercury Retrograde offers an alternate realm of perception that can facilitate the uncovering of essential aspects of Self.

Time will also be spent investigating the astrological significance of the three Mercury retrogrades during 2016 all occurring in Earth signs with significant aspects in transit to Mars, and what this can mean personally for you.
