In this five-week course, you’ll learn everything you need to begin confidently using Zodiacal Releasing as a timing technique in natal astrology. If you’re already familiar with Zodiacal Releasing, the course will help you deepen your understanding of the technique and develop greater nuance in how you interpret its periods and turning points.

What is Zodiacal Releasing?
Zodiacal Releasing is a powerful Hellenistic astrology time lord technique for revealing the multilayered nature of pivotal events, transitions, and periods of heightened activity in our lives. Unlike other astrological timing methods, Zodiacal Releasing creates archetypal structures of time based upon the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon—two points in the chart that weave together the soulful significations of the Moon and Sun.
Through these structures, Zodiacal Releasing illuminates the deeper patterns within our personal narratives, revealing how different archetypal themes rise into prominence, develop, reach turning points, and give way to something new. In this way, it can reveal the unfolding of a life story through distinct seasons and episodes, each carrying its own planetary qualities, challenges, and possibilities.
As a time lord technique, Zodiacal Releasing assigns specific periods of life to different planets. When a planet becomes activated as a time lord, its natal significations are given greater authority to emerge and develop. This offers a strikingly different perspective from techniques such as transits. Rather than focusing primarily on the changing movements of planets in the sky, Zodiacal Releasing reveals an underlying temporal architecture through which the potentials of the natal chart are released across a lifetime.
At the heart of the technique are the Sun and Moon and their respective lots: the Lot of Daimon and the Lot of Fortune. Both are calculated from the relationship between the zodiacal degrees of the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant, weaving the light of the luminaries together with the rising intersection of soul, spirit, and body.
The Lot of Fortune speaks to the material and embodied experiences of life associated with the Moon: the circumstances, conditions, and changes of fortune we encounter through incarnation. The Lot of Daimon points toward the solar, animating dimension of the soul—the inner source of intention, purpose, and calling that moves us to create, act, and make our mark upon the world.
Zodiacal Releasing reveals when the life matters signified by these lots are brought forward from their natal potential and given greater emphasis within the unfolding story of a life. It can illuminate periods of vocational development and accomplishment, dramatic changes in circumstances, pivotal transitions, and profound inner turns of direction.

By working with the releasing periods from both the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Daimon, we can gain a deeper understanding of the mysterious interplay between circumstance and calling, embodiment and purpose—and how the natal promise unfolds through time.

We will explore the full natal context of the rulers of activated signs, the significance of transitions between periods, and other interpretive nuances essential for understanding how the technique unfolds within a life. You’ll come away with a richer and more sophisticated approach to Zodiacal Releasing that you can confidently integrate into your astrological practice.
